Activities

From Kangemi to Broadway

Following the close of “Songs of the Spirit,” eight members of the Shangilia Youth Choir and two Shangilia staff members remained in New York to participate in a series of performances of Langston Hughes’ musical theatre production, Black Nativity, produced by the Classical Theatre of Harlem and presented at The Duke on 42nd  (http://duke.new42.org/events.cfm) in the heart of Broadway district on Times Square. The Shangilia children are presently sharing the stage with the American stage and screen star Andre De Shields playing the lead. Performances will take place for a month, closing on 30 December 2007.
