Shangilia has been successful in providing education and employment opportunities to many of the former street children who have been part of it's transforming experience. Below is a summary of the children who are in educational institutions or in formal employment.
To support a child, it costs $88/- per month or $1056/- annually. This is inclusive of shelter, food, clothing, psycho-social support, health care, primary education, salaries for care-givers, electricity, water, performing arts training and personal needs. To support a child in Secondary Boarding School, it costs $100/- monthly or $1200/- annually. This is inclusive of tuition fees, room and board, uniforms, school supplies and transportation. To support a child in Polytechnic Trade School, it costs $670/- annually and this is inclusive of tuition fees, room and board, transport and school supplies for the specific course department such as welding, carpentry and electrical training. To support University studies, it costs $6158/- annually inclusive of tuition, boarding, books and supplies.
School construction
The compound housing the children is very crowded. Cap Anamur, a German NGO, purchased a piece of land for Shangilia on which we need your financial assistance to build baby class, nursery and kindergarten, classes 1 through 8, computer lab, library, staff offices, storage 80 square meters 4000 x 12 rooms - $480,000/-.
