Classes for those remaining in kangemi begin at 8:00 a.m. followed by lunch at noon and more school work including lectures and debates until stage instruction begins (preceded by jogging around the neighborhood).

Non formal education is provided on the premises for nursery through primary five by eight staff who follow the kenya certificate of primary education (kcpe 844) curriculum.
Computer classes are also provided.

Shangilia School has entered four categories in the National Primary School Music Festival. They have sailed through to the provincials.
